The Urana Shire is a local government area in New South Wales, Australia in the Riverina region. The Newell Highway crosses its north-west corner.

It includes the town of Urana and the small towns of Boree Creek, Morundah, Oaklands and Rand.

Council

Urana Shire Council is composed of nine councillors elected proportionally. The area is divided into three wards, each electing three councillors. The mayor is not directly elected.[3] The current makeup of the council is as follows:[3]
